From Alexander:
“I am currently a senior in high school, and going to the University of Toronto for a degree in Neuroscience and Literature in the fall. I seek to pursue consciousness research and study human behaviour through a lens of both science and humanities. This poem is inspired by the great Allen Ginsberg and was written as a battle cry; a roar that the greatest act of revolution is holding ones head up. Refusing the shame thrust upon so many of us and standing in who we are with reckless abandon. How love will never condemn us, and nor will the callings of our flesh. It is a reminder of the unimaginable strength of looking hate in the eye and laughing.”
